Macerata-Loreto Pilgrimage

Christ is risen! For over two thousand years the Church has untiringly made this announcement to us. Christ’s resurrection is the event that dominates history, a fact that no evil that can happen is able to cancel, and that no wrongdoing of ours or of our brothers can eliminate. This event is the reason for our hope; and so it is this fact, His risen presence, that must dominate our steps from the first moment of the journey.
I invite you to give Him space during your pilgrimage. Let yourselves be drawn by His presence towards the Holy House. Don’t let us permit Christ to remain just a “word” in us, alongside our humanity as it journeys. He has happened: what light, what a breath of air, and what hope this event brings into our lives! It is the most powerful sign on the Mystery’s tenderness for each one of us, of God’s boundless charity for our nothingness and for our betrayal.
Let us ask Our Lady to intercede that the Holy Spirit make this fact become ours, yours and mine.
